Do UK citizens need a Switzerland visa after the new EES system is implemented?

Since the implementation of the European Entry/Exit System (EES) became active on 12 October 2025, UK citizens still do not need a Schengen visa (Swiss) for short stays under three months. Now they need to undergo biometric data collection (fingerprints and photo) at the Schengen border each time for entry. The EES will track entries and exits for improved border security.

Children under a certain age (under 12) are exempt from fingerprinting at Switzerland’s border (though a photo may still be required).
